"I know who I am
I know who I am
I know who I am
I am Yours
I am Yours
And You are mine,
Jesus, You are mine."
The choir sang this song today at church and it got me thinking, "Who am I?" Thankfully the answer is in the song. I am God's. I belong to Him because He opened my heart to His testimony about His Son. I'm so relieved that I don't have to define who I am according to the world because who I am in Him will never change because of who He is!
God's Word tells me that I am a Child of God (John 1:12-13)
Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God — children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
John 1:12-13
And that I am an Heiress (one who will inherit or expects an inheritance) of God's Glory (Romans 8:17-18)
And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering. Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.
Romans 8:17-18
